Novak Djokovic beats Andy Murray to win sixth Australian Open title
Another great win by Novak Djokovic! Another number: 6th Australian Open title!!
He says it is his favorite tournament, called by many: “happiest tournament”
The win: 6-1 7-5 7-6 (7-3) to claim his sixth Melbourne title, tying the record of Australia’s Roy Emerson.
Djokovic also draws level with tennis greats Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver on 11 Grand Slam titles!!
In the opposite side, Andy Murray is the player in the world to lost his 5 finals in the Australian Open, 4 of them against… precisely: Novak Djokovic!
The first set was the quickest one, solved in 30 minutes.
Fortunately, for tennis fans, Andy Murray gave some fight during the 2nd set (which last 80 minutes), solved in a tie-break! Some errors from both sides, which allowed that to watch more tennis. We had good moments too, with aces from both of them and the longest rally, with 36 strokes!!!
But, winning the first two sets (Djokovic), put the pressure all over Murray, who started badly the third (last) one with a point for Novak. But… because tennis is a sport where you can have ups and downs quickly, it happened to Novak and, Murray gave a good fight again, taking the game to another tie-break.
Yesterday, the German player Angelique Kerber won the Australian Open title against the master Serena Williams! Kerber fought back the best way!
In the first round she had to save a match point and did it well done and then, the final path! With nothing to loose, she tried hard and won the first Grand Slam title.
